Poof! The
information age is here! Female musicians and recording artists finally
have a platform to make themselves known. Musical art forms, however created,
can truly be heard and promoted in one form or another via internet technology.
The idea of wishing and waiting for a "record deal" has taken a turn. Women
are now promoting their own works successfully. They are able to receive
100% of their own CD sales. Of course the major record labels still remain
steadfast in being the top notch promotional vehicles to mass media markets,
but only a select few get to enjoy and reap those benefits. The Independent
artist is finally being able to prove a successful career through: internet
technology (MP3's/Web Cast/On-line Press/Streaming Technologies/Web Radio),
smart bookings, promotions, high self-esteem, and the most important; an
